Our monthly tournament returns on February 24th!
The Arkansas Special is a monthly fighting game tournament series designed to showcase some of the best talent in the region. The game listing changes every month and features some games which will appear in every iteration of the series and some games that will appear less frequently (so as not to conflict with other events). Almost every new classical fighting game will be featured at upcoming events, so please look forward to competing with other people when those release! The game listing for the following month’s tournament will always appear at the bottom of the the details below so everyone will have time to prepare for their favorite game.
Every tournament will have a full ranking associated with it. This will -ONLY- take into account matches played at The Arkansas Special and is not intended to compete with any PR or other type of ranking. Players at the top of their game will be featured in promotional material and prizes will be given to those who can maintain top status in their game for an extended period of time.
Don’t see your game listed or want to do a special event like an exhibition or team tournament? Talk to the tournament organizers and we’ll see what we can do to make it happen! This is a community event run BY the community and FOR the community, so we want to do what we can to earn everyone’s support!

Cost: (At this time, you may “pre-register” online, but payments must be done AT THE VENUE)
– $10 Registration Fee
– $3 Off if you bring a FULL tournament quality set-up including updated console, game, and low-lag monitor or CRT. Discount limited to one per person.
– Discounts may be limited to the amount necessary to fulfill tournament needs
– $10 Per Major Game Prize Pot Fee (For all non-Mystery Game events; 100% of this will go towards prize payout)
– $5 Mystery Game Tournament Prize Pot Fee (100% of this will go towards prize payout)
Spectating is FREE.
Prize Structure:
All Pots will be distributed in a 60/30/10 percentage split.
Schedule of Events: NOTE: Registration for each game will end PROMPTLY one hour before that game’s tournament begins. If you are late, you will be charged a fee to be added to your respective tournament(s) (provided there is room). Please add my phone number (512 522 8563) so that you may call/text me BEFORE REGISTRATION CLOSES to reserve a spot for you if you happen to be late for any reason. We are working very hard to make sure tournaments are ran ON TIME.
12 PM – Registration BEGINS for all games (Closes one hour prior to each game’s tournament)
2 PM – Street Fighter V; Dragon Ball FighterZ Team Exhibition (Arkansas vs Memphis)
3:30 PM – Dragon Ball FighterZ; Tekken 7; Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite
5 PM – Mystery Game Tournament; Guilty Gear: Xrd Rev 2; Injustice 2
